Exchange Downtime
Bot behavior during exchange downtime
Section titled “Bot behavior during exchange downtime”When a centralized exchange (Binance Futures or HyperLiquid) enters planned maintenance or experiences an unplanned outage, the Aegis bot cannot execute futures orders. The behavior in this state is:
- Active legs — legs that have open positions at the exchange are held in their current state. The bot does not attempt to close them during the outage.
- Pending orders — any order that cannot reach the exchange will result in
an
ERRORalert via Telegram and the affected leg will enter an error state in the dashboard. - Recovery — when the exchange becomes available again, the bot resumes normal operation automatically. Price monitoring continues during the outage using on-chain data.
What to do during an outage
Section titled “What to do during an outage”-
Check the exchange status page:
- Binance: https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement
- HyperLiquid: check their official status channels
-
Check the dashboard activity log in Dashboard > Analytics for
ERRORevents related to the affected exchange. -
Wait for automatic recovery — Aegis will resume execution once the exchange is back online. No manual action is required to restart the bot after an exchange outage resolves.
-
If recovery does not happen automatically within a reasonable time after the exchange is back online, contact Aegis support.
